FAQ's
Q: What type of fuel do the petrol golf cars take?
The petrol golf cars take regular unleaded petrol. Their tank size is around 25litres. They are single cylinder engines and are very economical to run. All petrol golf cars will be supplied with fuel.
Q: Do I have to return the golf car with a full tank of fuel?
No, refuelling fees for petrol golf cars and battery recovery fees for electric golf cars are included in the hire rates. The golf cars will be supplied with sufficient fuel however during the actual hire itself the hirer is responsible for refuelling the golf cars should they run out.
Q: How long can the electric golf cars be driven for?
An electric golf car can travel around 7-10km’s on a single charge in normal operating conditions. The distance & time may vary depending on the amount of load placed on the golf car. The load is basically the amount of weight and type of terrain the golf car will be driven on. For example: the golf car will travel less when it carries more weight and is driven up steep inclines.
Q: Do you supply the electric golf cars with chargers?
Yes, if the hire is more than 1 day we will supply the electric golf cars with chargers so that the vehicles batteries can be recharged and the vehicle can be operated again. A full charge cycle for a golf car is around 8-10 hours. The chargers can be plugged into any standard 12 volt power supply (eg: wall socket).
Q: I need to hire a golf car that has lights, do you have these?
Yes, although lights are non-standard items for golf cars we carry a large range of vehicles that have been fitted with lighting packages.
Q: I need to hire a conditionally registered golf car, do you have these?
Due to the large set up costs & small demand we don't conditionally register our hire fleet vehicles. We can however on application organise to have our golf cars conditionally registered for a hire. Please note that registered vehicles will incur a vehicle registration recovery fee of $2.50 + gst per day.
Q: How fast can the golf cars travel?
The forward rated speed varies depending upon the type of golf car. Most golf cars have forward speeds rated at a maximum of approx 20-25kph as they are not designed for high speed usage.
Q: Am I allowed to put signage or stickers etc on the golf car during my hire?
Yes, you are permitted to add signage or stickers etc to the golf car only on the condition that the signage is not attached to the golf car in a way that would damage the vehicle and is completely removed when the golf car is returned. Any signage left on the vehicle or sticker residue etc that has not been removed will incur an excess cleaning fee of $25 + gst.
Q: Am I allowed to tow a trailer behind or push anything with the golf cars?
No, towing or pushing other vehicles etc is prohibited and could result in damage to the golf car that the hirer is responsible for.
Q: Can you have the golf car delivered and picked up from our location?
Yes, we have a large tilt tray truck for larger deliveries and trailers for smaller deliveries. Please note that freight costs are not included in the golf car hire rates and are dependent upon the location for delivery and pick up and the number of golf cars to be transported.
Q: If I leave the headlights on and the battery runs flat or if I get a puncture am I covered?
We will cover the unlikely event of a mechanical failure but we do not cover non-mechanical defects such as lost keys, punctures, flat battery due to lights being left on etc. Call-out fees apply in these instances.
